Upon the successfully Completion ICTQual AB Level 3 Award in National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Qualification (NVBLQ), learners will be able to:

  • Beach Lifeguarding Principles and Coastal Safety
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of a professional beach lifeguard.
  • Identify and assess coastal hazards including tides, currents, and weather conditions.
  • Apply water safety legislation, codes of practice, and risk management principles.
  • Promote safe behaviour among beach users through effective public engagement.

  • Demonstrate a range of open water rescue techniques in varying sea conditions.

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of enrollment.
  • A minimum of basic secondary school education or equivalent is recommended.
  • While prior lifeguarding experience is not mandatory, candidates should be confident swimmers and physically fit.
  • Participants should have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken, to follow instructions, complete assessments, and communicate effectively during emergency situations.
